ST. Thomas More School

History
In 1987, St. Thomas More Parish School opened the doors of its Before/After School Program. This service is available for all students who are currently enrolled in St. Thomas More School. This includes preschool (3 and 4 year olds) through eighth grade.

Mission
STM Before/After School Program has as its mission to provide a safe, fun, and caring environment before and after regular school hours where respect for Christian values is evident and the well-being of the child is the main concern.

Goals
To provide a safe and secure environment for children in a quality after-school program
To provide activities that meet the cognitive, social, physical, and emotional needs of the children
To give children the opportunity to learn cooperation while socializing with peers
To build self-esteem and confidence
To encourage self-expressions and to promote responsible self care and independence

Purpose
The STM Before/After School program serves working families who desire both parochial school education and supplementary day care in a Christian environment. We accept children enrolled in the STM Preschool, Kindergarten, and grades one through eight. Hours are 7:00 – 7:50 a.m. Monday through Friday, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday unless school is dismissed before 12 noon. After School will not be available on any day when dismissal is before noon.  Before/After School care will not be available on any school holiday.

Programs
The Before/After School Program provides supervision based on a common sense approach to student care. The planned schedule includes snacks provided by the school, study time, and play. The schedule is planned to ensure that the student gets exercise and relaxation after a day at school. Also provided is the opportunity for students to do homework assignments, thus allowing the family more time for home activities.

"Early Birds" is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 7:50 a.m. at a nominal cost per child.

The After School  Program is available for students in grades K-8, Monday through Thursday, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. and on Friday from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Cost for this program is billed separately from the student's tuition. All students must register in advance for the program. Due to space and staff limitations, drop in service is not available.

Show respect for All (God, each other, parents, Before/After School Staff.)
Think and act safely at all times.
Take care of school property, equipment, and grounds.

Corporate Hands Program
St. Thomas More Before/After School is partnered with the Corporate Hands Program. If you work for a Corporate Hands Company, please contact the Before/After School Director as soon as possible. This program provides grant money for staff training seminars, student games, and equipment.
