St. Thomas More provides a rigorous academic framework in the classroom and also offers a robust selection of enrichment opportunitites to fully develop our students interests.
Our Intervention Assistance Team (IAT) approach is the collaboration of all the above to achieve student success. IAT is meant to provide assistance in identifying and improving student social skills, performance and/or academics. Our team facilitates the development and identification of resources available to meet the student’s educational and behavioral needs. Collectively, the IAT strives to figure out why the student is having difficulty and then develops a plan (e.g., an “Intervention”) to help the student experience success. The goal of the plan is to increase the student’s skill mastery, which will then lead to increased achievement.
The IAT plan may include students participating in Title Services provided through and by Catapult Learning. Students who qualify for these services can receive support in Math and/or Reading if they reside in the HISD area. The Catapult Instructor works closely with our faculty and staff here on campus.
